CPM is Seeking an Experienced CNC Machinist

Key Accountabilities:
  • Work from process sheets, blueprints, set up sheets, set up cards, machine status boards, and verbal/written instructions
  • Rotate between various department work centers as required
  • Inspect finished piece part for proper dimensions and document results
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to offset coordinates and modify/edit programs to compensate for materials, tooling, and/or machine center conditions
  • Load and unload component piece parts
  • Inspect own work for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards are maintained
  • Work with supervisor to resolve problem situations as required
  • Move completed work to designated areas
  • Assist in other department operations as required to accommodate personnel and production requirements
  • Use calipers, micrometers, depth/height gauges, gauging and locating fixtures, as well as other fixed and universal gauging equipment
  • Use a variety of hand tools
  • Follow quality and safety rules while maintaining a clean and orderly work area
Qualifications:
  • 10-15 years experience programming and operating CNC milling machines (Haas preferred)
  • Must be able to program and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes (Haas preferred)
  • Able to use mathematics along with the analytical use of process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, and machine status boards. 
  • Accurately use various types of precision measuring instruments with the ability to make minor modifications to CNC programs. 
  • Able to use a personal computer for data entry
  • Knowledge of all GD&T preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD/CAM Software (Mastercam Preferred)
  • Diversified work. Use of considerable judgement to plan, perform, set up and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes, including minor modifications to preprogrammed computer routines within the limits of recognized standard methods and procedures
  • Moderate physical demand required for set up, to insert tooling, make machine adjustments, and inspect work pieces
  • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs and stand/be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required to set up CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, troubleshoot and make adjustments, and perform repetitive work
